Creating a Memorable Website

A good number of Internet entrepreneurs think that creating a website is all about having good quality text content throughout their web pages. Whilst that is partially true, it is not the be all and end all of website creation!

There are so many websites that are one big mass of text, text and you guessed it, yet more text so boring! The majority of Internet surfers prefer to see a bit of colour , bland and boring text needs to be broken up to keep the visitor entertained. I have gone into many a website to be greeted with continual solid blocks of text that is not even paragraphed, which just serves to send me clicking out of there quick smart!

Humans get bored fairly quickly if presented with a bland subject but Internet surfers get bored even quicker. If you do not have a website that is pleasing to the eye you may as well forget it and take up some other career.

To maintain and retain your websites visitors interest you have to carefully consider how they will perceive your website. It has been said that on average an Internet surfer will only spend around 7 seconds to make a decision on whether to stay on your website or not.

It is a known fact that people are drawn to pictures and graphics when they first enter a website, all text and nothing but text sites will be a big turn off. Creating an equal balance will keep your visitors more entertained thus retaining their presence and interest. They will feel more inclined to read through what it is you are offering.

So many Internet marketers are blinkered when it comes to building their website and some seem to focus only on how the search engines will perceive their site when it comes to indexing. It’s true that search engines don’t read actual images when their spiders crawl your website pages.

The old saying of a picture paints a thousand words is so true and by using images and graphics to improve the appearance of your website need not present a problem to the search engine spiders. Alternate text can be embedded into images and graphics and it is this that the search engines will be able to read.

Brightening up your website by making use of pictures and graphics will pay dividends in terms of visitor retention and monetary gains. The longer your visitor stays on your website, the more chance there is of them making a purchase from you.
